How to Reduce Photo Size to 50 KB for Exam Forms
Many online forms ask for a photo under 50 KB, but a phone photo is usually 1 to 5 MB. Here is a simple way to shrink it on a phone or a computer, without installing anything.
Step by step
- Open the Compress Image to 50 KB tool.
- Add your photo (JPG, PNG or WebP).
- Click the compress button and check the new size shown next to the file.
- If it is under 50 KB, download it and upload it to your form.
If the file is still too big
Very large photos may need more than quality reduction. First use Resize Image to make the picture smaller in pixels, then compress it again. You can also use Crop Image to cut away extra background, which makes the file lighter.
Tips for a clear photo
- Use a plain background and good light before you take the photo.
- Choose JPG. It gives the smallest file for photos.
- Do not compress more than needed. A file just under the limit looks better than a tiny one.
- Always check the size, format and shape your own form asks for, because rules differ between exams and portals.
