How to Resize a Signature for Online Forms
Application forms often ask for a signature image of a fixed size, such as 140 x 60 pixels, and a small file size. Follow these steps to get it right the first time.
1. Prepare the signature
Sign with a dark pen on plain white paper. Take a clear photo in good light, holding the phone straight above the page so the picture is not tilted.
2. Crop it tightly
Use Crop Image to keep only the signature and a small margin. This matters because a signature is wide and short. If the shape of your picture is very different from the size you need, it will look stretched.
3. Resize to the required size
Open Resize Signature to 140x60. The width and height are filled in for you. For another size, change the numbers in the boxes.
4. Keep the file small
If your form also has a size limit, run the result through Compress Image to 20 KB or another size page.
5. Check before you upload
- The signature should be dark and readable.
- The background should be clean white.
- Check the format your form accepts (usually JPG).
